CNY 2011 (The year of Rabbit)

Chinese New Year this year is definitely a different one for me. For the first time, I didn't get to do cny shopping, eat reunion dinner and have cny visiting with my family. This is quite SAD because as the date gets nearer and nearer and everyone is flying back to their hometown, I was in Adelaide, preparing to go back to Uni. =.=

But luckily I have a bunch of good friends around that made the cny this year a rather memorable one for me :)

On the cny eve, a group of us organised a so called "reunion dinner" in my friend's place and all of us dressed up in red. It was the theme for CNY.

After the "reunion dinner", we had a walk in a park nearby. It was kinda like a shooting session for a CNY mv, when everyone dressed up in their RED outfits and posed like an artist. Just have a look at the photos below and you'll get what I mean :P

At night, we went to Zhu lin temple for the cny celebration there. The lion dance was really awesome. Saw some of our coursemates there as well. The celebration ended with fireworks when the clock struck 12.

It was the first day of cny the next day. Luckily it was not too bad because we only had a one hour lecture at 1pm.

Since it was the first day of cny, all of us were too lazy to cook dinner, so that night, we dined out at a chinese restaurant in chinatown. And we saw lion dance AGAIN =.=

Second day of cny was pretty much spent at uni because we had lectures that morning. Went to do some grocery shopping in the central market and rushed back to uni for the honours information session in the afternoon. Nothing much really on the second day of cny, but then on the third day, we celebrated my housemate's birthday. We gave her a surprise during the midnight :P

In the morning, there was this Street Party happening in chinatown. We dined out at another chinese restaurant at night to celebrate my housemate's birthday.

This is pretty much how I celebrated Chinese New Year this year. How did you celebrate yours?
